Industry moves: IG Wealth, Hub International fill exec roles

Each week, we summarize notable moves across the financial industry.

  • Milorad Stefanovic has been promoted to senior vice-president (SVP), head of IG Wealth Management technology and portfolio delivery. He joined the firm in 2018 as vice-president (VP), digital technology. He was previously with RBC for more than a decade, where he led enterprise business architecture for its wealth management platform, served as senior director of commercial credit and branch platform, and later, as head of digital business banking.
  • Roger Cervo has been named SVP of complex risk in Canada with Hub International Ltd. He brings more than three decades of experience, most recently with Willis Towers Watson, where he spent more than 20 years as director of new business responsible for Canada construction.
  • Denise McEachern has joined HomeEquity Bank as VP of wealth management, leaving Sun Life after seven years. There, she held associate vice-president roles with responsibilities for strategic business growth and practice management, and wealth strategic initiatives. McEachern also has spent close to a decade with BMO Financial Group in various senior roles, including managing director and head of commercial deposits, and prior to that, spent five years with CIBC in process engineering roles.  
  • Michael Shelsen has been appointed VP, human performance architecture at Manulife. In a LinkedIn post, he described the role as focusing on “defining how performance works across the enterprise — bringing together skills, careers, jobs, and performance into a more connected and clear system” in an AI-enabled world. Shelsen joined the firm in 2024 as VP of talent acquisition, after two years in the same role at John Hancock. Shelsen has also served in senior talent acquisition and development-focused roles at Scotiabank and TD.
  • Jennifer Hartviksen has been appointed managing director, head of fixed income at TD Asset Management, leaving Investment Management Corp. of Ontario, where she was managing director and head of global credit for more than six years. She brings more than 25 years of industry experience, with previous roles including head of global high yield and senior portfolio manager with Invesco Ltd., and senior portfolio manager roles with CPP Investment Board and Fiera Quantum LP.
  • Brittany Puglia Amato has joined CIBC Global Asset Management as director and ETF specialist, leaving TD Asset Management (TDAM) after more than five years. She brings more than 15 years of experience, including as as regional VP, advisor distribution at TDAM. Amato has also served in senior business development and client relationship roles at First Trust Portfolios Canada, Greensview Wealth Management, LLC, and others; worked as a financial advisor with JPMorgan Chase & Co. and Raymond James; and is currently Canada chapter co-lead at Women in ETFs.
  • Brian Harman has joined BMO Global Asset Management as director and head of inside sales and national sales enablement. Harman previously spent more than six years with Global X Investments Canada Inc., including as wholesaler and team lead, before being promoted to VP-level business development roles. In his last position, he was responsible for wealth intermediaries and inside sales.
  • Louis Letellier has joined PWL Capital as director of compliance, leaving iA Private Wealth after a year as senior director of compliance. He previously spent more than 16 years with Quebec’s Autorité des marchés financiers, and has been president of the board at Institut de l’IDÉE at Université Laval since 2017.
  • Jeff Wright has departed National Bank, where he was co-head of integration following National Bank’s acquisition of Canadian Western Bank (CWB) last year. Before the merger, Wright served at CWB for close to seven years in senior roles, including as group head, client solutions and specialty businesses as well as senior VP, equipment, digital and client solutions. Prior to that, he spent more than five years with BMO Financial Group, including as head of its transformation acceleration office, and another five with BMO U.S. (Harris Bank) in senior VP roles. He has not announced his next move yet.
  • Macan Nia is leaving his role as co-chief investment strategist, capital markets strategy, at Manulife, after nearly 18 years with the firm. He has not announced his next move yet.
  • Paula Potter has been named CEO of Saskatchewan Healthcare Employees’ Pension Plan (SHEPP) as of July 1, succeeding Alison McKay, who is retiring. She brings 22 years of experience in the pension sector, most of that at SHEPP, including in her current role as chief operating officer.
