Curtis Stange has been named as ATB Financial’s next president and CEO, and the Alberta government has formally approved his appointment.

Stange was selected as part of a North American search that began in January, when Dave Mowat announced his retirement, effective June 30.

Stange, who’s currently ATB’s chief customer officer, has more than 30 years experience in banking, nine of which he’s spent at ATB. He’s held roles in both personal and business banking.

In a Thursday press release, Stange says he plans to “transform banking” and use technology to help Albertans.
