The OSC is hosting a panel discussion on the issues identified in the CSA’s paper on the current fiduciary standard of conduct for advisors and dealers.

The discussion will take place on July 23, 2013 from 10am to 12pm at the OSC’s Toronto offices. It will follow two scheduled roundtables that will also focus on the issues brought forward in the paper—one session is geared towards investors, while the other will bring together industry representatives.

This third panel will explore the potential benefits and competing considerations of introducing a statutory fiduciary standard for advisers and dealers who work with retail clients. Specifically, it will build on the view presented during the roundtables.

Panelists will be selected based on their perspectives to ensure diverse views are represented, and those interested in observing the panel discussion must e-mail bestinterestconsultations@osc.gov.on.ca by Monday, July 8, 2013.
