Germany climbs WEF rankings

Germany has moved from sixth to fourth on the World Economic Forum’s table of global competitive economies today, reports Germany Trade and Invest.

The country’s innovation record and infrastructure are reasons for the rise.

Germany was ranked third for infrastructure overall, below Singapore and Hong Kong. It scored in the top 11 for seven out of the nine ranking criteria.

Germany’s seasonally-adjusted growth for the second quarter is 0.7%, the best in more than a year.
