Global Risk Institute names new president and CEO

Dr. Michel G. Maila, a veteran of both private and public financial institutions, is the new leader of the Toronto-based Global Risk Institute in Financial Services (GRI). The appointment was effective June 1, 2012.

Maila served as vice president of risk management at the International Finance Corporation—the Washington-based private sector arm of the World Bank Group—from 2007 to 2010. He also worked with BMO Financial Group for 22 years, rising to executive vice president and head of corporate risk management.
