In celebration of International Women’s Day, the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management and TD Bank Group have released a joint study that looks at how women across the country perceive challenges and opportunities in advancing their careers.

“We understand women have unique needs when it comes to wealth management, financial planning and professional well-being,” says Sandy Cimoroni, COO, TD Wealth and Chair, Women Investor Program. “Many women identified financial preparedness for life’s unexpected curveballs, like divorce, illness or unemployment, as critical to achieving their long-term goals.”

Meanwhile, the Association of Women in Finance (AWF) has announced a new scholarship lineup for 2016. The annual scholarships are open to female students enrolled in finance programs at seven B.C. universities and colleges.

A total of $23,500 is available through scholarships at: British Columbia Institute of Technology, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver Island University, Douglas Collage, the University of the Fraser Valley and the University of British Columbia. Complete details can be found at womeninfinance.ca/scholarships.html.
