H&R REIT held talks with Blackstone regarding sale of certain assets

H&R Real Estate Investment Trust says it has held talks with Blackstone Inc. regarding a potential sale of certain assets to the U.S. private equity firm.

The trust confirmed the discussions after a request by securities regulators following media reports.

H&R says it has had preliminary, non-exclusive discussions with Blackstone.

It added that it has not entered into any arrangements with the firm and there are no assurances that it will be proceeding with any sale or other transaction.

H&R is one of Canada’s largest real estate investment trusts.

It holds a portfolio of residential, industrial and office properties in Canada and the United States.
