Investors Group changes risk rating, reduces fees for multiple funds

Investors Group has made several changes to its mutual fund offering, including fee reduction on certain funds and risk rating tweaks to multiple funds.

The company has also added Mackenzie Investments as a sub-advisor to its Investors Real Property Fund.

Administration fee reductions

Effective June 30, the annual administration fees payable for Series C will decrease .05% for most of Investors Group’s fixed income funds (see the table below).

Management fee reductions

Also effective June 30, the annual management fee rates on the Investors Fixed Income Flex Portfolio and the Investors Cornerstone II Portfolio will move from a variable to fixed fee rate that’s lower for both funds than the current maximum rates permitted (see the table below).

The investment objectives or strategies of these funds will remain the same. Investors Group says in a Friday release that the risk rating changes are due to the implementation of the new standardized risk classification methodology mandated by the Canadian Securities Administrators.

Mackenzie Investments will sub-advise the non-real property investments of Investors Real Property Fund, effective July 13. No material changes have been made to the investment objectives, strategies or investment management activities of the fund.
