Jeff Carney named new head at Mackenzie, co-president at IGM

IGM Financial has appointed Jeffrey R. Carney as the company’s new co-president and CEO, alongside Murray J. Taylor, effective May 6th, 2013.

Taylor will remain in his current role as co-president and CEO.

Carney’s has 25 years of experience in the investment management and banking industries in Canada and the U.S.

Further, Carney’s also been appointed the president and CEO of Mackenzie Investments. He’ll succeed Charles R. Sims, who’s held the position since 2005.

Sims will continue working with the Power Financial group for a time to assist Carney with the leadership transition. Following that, he will take a new role with Power Financial.
