The members of Advocis have elected a new board of directors for 2013, and have named Harley Lockhart as chair of the board.

“Raising the bar for financial advisors, increasing financial literacy among consumers, and improving retirement resources for Canadians are just a few of the challenges facing our profession,” says Lockhart.

Prior to that, he was chair of a task force that revised the Advocis Code of Professional Conduct.

Lockhart is a B.C. resident and joined Advocis as an independent practitioner in 1985. He’s the senior financial advisor at Quail Ridge Financial Services.
