Mint charts history of the penny

The penny may now be history, but it won’t yet be forgotten.

Special collections are already going on sale, and the copper currency will still be circulation for a few years to come.

If you find yourself missing it already, however, fear not. The Royal Canadian Mint has created a colourful infographic that charts the history of the Canadian penny. Starting with its creation in 1797, it takes you through its development up to 2013.
