OTPP partners with GE Aviation

The Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan has entered into a partnership with GE Aviation to support the development of advanced technologies for the GE9X engine.

The new engine, which will power Boeing aircraft, is expected to provide 10% improvement in fuel consumption. It’s scheduled to enter service in 2020.

In connection with the deal, OTPP’s also entered into an inaugural transaction with the Development Bank of Japan to establish an ongoing relationship based on providing innovative financing.

No financial details have been disclosed.
