Pope Francis named Person of the Year

Pope Francis received an early Christmas gift today; turns out he’s been named Time magazine’s Person of the Year.

As Reuters reports, the magazine credits “him with shifting the message of the Catholic Church, while capturing the imaginations of millions who had become disillusioned with the Vatican.”

Since Pope Francis was elected, he’s made it his mission to clean up the Vatican and he’s reached out to the masses by gaining more than 3 million followers on Twitter.

Reuters adds this is the third time a pope has been awarded the title. Read more.
