Russell Investments Canada is changing the name of one of its retirement portfolios to better reflect the portfolio’s mandate and current investors.

Russell Retirement Essentials Portfolio will henceforth be named Russell Income Essentials Portfolio. Similarly, the Russell Retirement Essentials Class Portfolio is now Russell Income Essentials Class Portfolio.

“The Russell Income Essentials Portfolio meets the income needs of a diverse group of individuals, from those in retirement, to those approaching retirement, and those who are years to retirement,” said David Feather, President and Chief Executive Officer, Russell Investments Canada.

The Russell Income Essentials Portfolio was designed with an asset mix of 35% equity and 65% fixed income to provide a reliable source of income that balances the priority of preservation of capital with the need for capital appreciation.

The Russell Income Essentials Portfolio and Class Portfolio is part of Russell’s complete retirement investment solutions, which feature a full range of retirement portfolios optimized for three distinct retirement needs: Essentials, Lifestyle, and Estate.
