Two Canadian financial companies have been named to the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World, announced yesterday in Davos, Switzerland at the World Economic Forum.

Sun Life Financial ranked 85, while Royal Bank of Canada came in 87.

Corporate Knights, a Canadian media and investment research company, compiled the list, which has been unveiled annually at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland since 2005. It ranks companies based on environmental, social and governance metrics.

Doug Morrow, vice-president of research, says, “The Global 100 is one of the few equity indexes that has outperformed the MSCI All Country World Index (ACWI) –the Global 100’s benchmark—by over 900 bps over the last 8 years.”
