Rob Bechard

Rob Bechard is the executive director, exchange-traded funds (ETF) at CIBC Global Asset Management – a top 100 global asset manager with over 200 investment professionals managing more than C$300 billion in assets. With over 25 years of expertise in the investment industry specializing in ETFs and portfolio management, Bechard is focused on driving innovation and advancing the organization’s global ETF business.

Prior to joining CIBC Global Asset Management, he served for 15 years as head of portfolio management at BMO Asset Management, playing a pivotal role in launching and expanding their ETF business to include more than 150 ETFs and over $100 billion in assets under management. Earlier in his career, Bechard worked at Barclays Global Investors/iShares in both London, U.K. and Toronto, Canada as a fixed income portfolio manager and trader.

Bechard is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Queen’s University in Kingston, as well as a Master of Science in Mathematical Trading and Finance from City, University of London.
