Franklin Templeton merging Canadian fund

Franklin Templeton Investments plans to merge the Wellington West Franklin Templeton Balanced Retirement Income Fund into the Quotential Balanced Growth Portfolio, effective June 22, 2012. Unitholders of the terminating fund will receive Series A securities of the continuing fund on a dollar-for-dollar basis. All costs associated with the termination will be borne by Franklin Templeton.

Northern Financial CFO resigns

Investment dealer Northern Financial and Jaguar Financial, a merchant bank, have announced the resignation of Doug Chornoboy, the senior vice president and chief financial officer of both Toronto firms. Chornoboy is leaving for a financial institution in British Columbia. A new chief financial officer will be named in due course.
